Yesterday was pretty good (well better).
Sarah nibbled on a gfcf cereal bar in the morning. Then I made some gfcf pancakes. Kyle loved them and Sarah ate 2! She ate some grapes along with it. I attempted to sneak in some milk, still using my philosophy that I mix it and gradually move to all soy or rice milk, the transition would be easier. that didn't work. She took a tentative sip and put the cup down. I tasted it myself and there was so little soy milk in there (maybe 1/4) I couldn't taste it and I am VERY particular about my milk. Well many kids with autism are very particular about their tastes and evidently mine is one. So, I know this sounds hard but I have decided that when her "regular" milk runs out, that's it. She can only eat what I give her right?
The afternoon was OK with Sarah nibbling on gfcf cookies, grapes and yes a few Utz potato chips for a treat. They are gfcf too. All the gfcf sites recommend Lays for chips, but most people in this region will not eat anything but Utz. You can't get them anywhere else unless you have them shipped, which is why (I guess) most people talk about Lays. Lays are a lot saltier though. Anyway, Sarah wolfed down hot dogs and beans for lunch along with a cup pf juice.
She snacked some more in the afternoon on the same snacks and then ate more hot dogs and beans for dinner along with grapes and an orange. Her final snack was 2 pieces of bacon (not all bacon is gfcf - can u believe it).
So...I would consider that a gfcf day (barring the sip of milk) and the Johnson's baby bath which has oats in it. I am expecting a Peapod order today (yes I have my groceries delivered sometimes - especially when I have a coupon for free delivery) and I am expecting a different type of gfcf waffles and a few other items.
Today I am making a batch of homemade turkey sausage. Everyone likes it and it is gfcf.

homemade turkey sausage??? are you kidding? Kelly I need for you to make me some, and I'll make a special trip to get it. You tell me what you need and I'll bring it with me. Also, how are you making out with the turtle products (can't remember the full/correct name)?
ReplyDeleteHey Hope - I modified one of my friend's recipes for the sausage - it's great! Let me know when you are coming and I will make you some. I found the Turtle Mountain yogurts (called So Delicious) BUT Sarah won't eat them. Actually they are pretty good (though a little runny).
