What a week!
An interesting week it has been...one thing I noticed is a change in Sarah's behavior/temperament. Beginning last Friday, Sarah's diet changed drastically. Though we didn't go 100% gluten and casein free, we got to about 85%. Monday and Tuesday everyone was home so that was 5 days. Sarah returned to school and daycare on Wednesday. At school, she only eats what snacks we send in. Afterward, she goes to daycare but we weren't prepared to start her on the diet at daycare this week. So Sarah had the usual at daycare which included milk and pasta (I am sure she was ecstatic after basically hunger striking on and off for 5 days). Wednesday night when we came home, Sarah had a tantrum like I hadn't seen in days. Her behavior was really wild with creaming, hitting, fighting, and nonstop climbing up and over everything. This is basically the behavior we see anywhere from two to ten times a day EVERY DAY. However, the behaviors began subsiding over the weekend. She had no major tantrums, screaming or crying fits Sunday through Tuesday. We have NEVER gone this long without the severe behaviors, in at least a YEAR - so trust me when I say it wasn't there. Her behaviors persisted through the week and into the weekend. This morning she appeared not to be feeling very well and was clingy and crying and wanting me to hold her (almost like she was hurting). Into the afternoon, there was more crying and she seemed agitated and wanted more holding. This evening she seems to be calming down. Trying the new cereal was a big deal! She is singing along with the Barney video and calling Kyle when I call him. It comes out like, "Ky bull" I am convinced there is something to this diet.
